CTC’s “Willy Wonka, Jr.” Earns 4 Star LCT Rating

CTCWillyWonkaImagePanelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s production of Roald’s Dahl’s timeless children’s story “Willy Wonka, Jr.” with a 4 Star Rating.

Panelists praised Willy Wonka, Jr. as “A fun and heart-warming afternoon…amazing that the story of Willy Wonka and Charlie Bucket can still evoke childhood memories and make us yearn for all that is good and simple in the world.” Set designer, David O. Centers, and costume designer, Kathie Brookfield, were both praised for their work on the production: “set and costume designs were clever, imaginative, nicely-executed, and attention-grabbing.”

Willy Wonka, Jr. continues at the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati through April 12th. Tickets may obtained through their website, http://www.thechildrenstheatre.com.

League of Cincinnati Theatre panelists evaluate productions on a 5 star scale and recommend shows at either a 4 star or 5 star level. Nominations for LCT awards will be determined and announced at the end of the season and winners awarded at the annual LCT gala in the spring.
