It has been quite a time at Fringe this year and I do find myself wishing I could have seen more. But here are a couple of shows I wasn’t expecting to catch:
Appalachian Songcatcher by Hannah Sage From (Atlanta, GA)
In order to properly cover the scope of the offerings at Fringe 2026, a last-minute shift allowed this reviewer to catch a show that had not been on her radar. Hannah Sage From is a multi-hyphenate storyteller/musician who brings a piece of her home to audiences with banjo, voice, and illustrations. Her personal stories of growing up queer in rural North Georgia weave together nicely like a soothing, comfortable quilt.
It’s easy to see how she has been entertaining folx since a tender age as her “act” is terribly versatile and adaptable in its entertainment value alone. Definitely a welcomed surprise. Recommended.

Jon Bennett: This Will Only Ever Happen Once by 2Hoots Productions (Adelaide, Australia)
Jon Bennett is back in Cincinnati and it’s exactly what you’d expect: well-told stories, lots of laughs, and a bit of a think (or two). This year’s offering is about unrepeatable moments and, as usual, animals play their part. Mr. Bennett shares experiences from his formative years as well as those from his global travels and his abilities as a solid and reliable entertainer have not waivered.
While some of what you will hear is familiar, much is new and rather poignant. It truly is difficult not to have a good time at a Jon Bennett show. Recommended.

Three shows will have an “Encore” Saturday, June 13 on the Mainstage at Know Theatre:
- Champagne Dreams at 5 pm
- Colonial Circus at 6:45 pm
- A Hollywood Horror Story at 8:30 pm
Excellent choices for audiences to see the range of entertainment–and education–at Cincy Fringe.
Kat’s Fringe Reviews: The Sweet and Lowdown
The summer theatre party is winding down, but here’s good news: there is still plenty of time to see a few shows! Don’t lose faith at the “SOLD OUT” stamps on many of the remaining productions; there are so many options that you’re bound to find something wonderful. Be sure to get there on time, be kind to the tireless staff and volunteers (maybe even throw a “thank you” or many their way!), and be a good audience member. We know we can count on you – now get out there and soak up every last bit of this Fringe!
