NKU’s “Grease” Earns 2 LCT Nominations
Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized Northern Kentucky University’s production of Grease with two LCT nominations for Choreography (Jane Green) and Ensemble in a Musical, as well as distinguishing it as a recommended production.
Nominated for 11 Tony Awards, Grease has spawned a series of motion pictures as well as two Broadway revivals. In the late 50’s ‘Grease is the word’ at Rydell High School. where Danny Zuko pines for cheerleader Sandy Dumbrowski. Come follow these star-crossed lovers and their gang of rebellious teens as they navigate the complexities of love, cars, and drive-ins.
Panelists praised Jane Green’s choreography as “witty and cleverâ€; “very energetic and creative, while evoking the spirit of late 50s rock and roll.†The ensemble cast was “delightfulâ€â€”all the cast-members were “in synch…the singing and dancing were strong by all.†The entire production was “funâ€, “high energyâ€, and “a pleasure to watchâ€.
