Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized the Showboat Majestic’s “George M!” with a nomination for Matt Dentino as lead actor in a musical.
GEORGE M! tells the life story of George M. Cohan, a giant of the American musical theater who gave us such songs as “œYankee Doodle Dandy“, “œOver There“, “œYou’re A Grand Old Flag“, and “œGive My Regards to Broadway“, and who transformed the Broadway variety show into a book-driven musical where song and dance advance plot.
Matt Dentino, who played George M. Cohan, was nominated for lead actor in a musical. Panelists thought that he was “œpolished, confident and utterly in command of the role“ and that he showed “œgreat enthusiasm and showmanship“.

Final LCT awards will be determined at the end of the season and announced at the LCT gala in the spring.
