The Carnegie“™s “Xanadu” Earns LCT Recommendation

Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center“™s “œXanadu“ as a recommended production.

In this light-hearted musical send-up of the 1980 movie, beautiful Greek muse Kira has journeyed from Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in a quest to inspire struggling chalk artist Sonny to create the most resplendent and staggering work of art the world has ever known“¦ the roller disco! The musical features feel-good “˜80“™s pop-rock hits like “œMagic,“ “œAll Over The World,“ “œSuddenly“ and “œEvil Woman.“

One panelist described it as “œa big show; multi-tiered, busy and total entertainment.“ Another called it “œa silly summer night at the theatre! As the play says, it“™s like children’s theatre for grown ups, but it“™s fun for kids, too.“
