NKU“™s You Can“™t Take It With You Earns LCT Nomination
Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized Northern Kentucky University“™s production of You Can“™t Take It With You with an LCT nomination for featured actress (Abby Wagner) as well as distinguishing it as a recommended production.
You Can“™t Take It With You is one of the most popular and successful plays of modern times, delighting audiences since 1936. This Pulitzer Prize winning comedy celebrates non-conformity as a man from a family of rich snobs becomes engaged to a woman from a good-natured but decidedly eccentric family. One dinner party and their families“™ differences ignite!
Panelists commended Abby Wagner, who played the balletically-challenged daughter Essie, for her “œdazzling, loony choreography“ who had “œthe audience in stitches“ with her contortions. Many thought she was the best Essie they have seen performed. Panelists recommended the production as a whole, saying the show “œrendered the benign anarchy that reigns in the Sycamore household with a terrific ensemble cast“ who had “œspot-on comic timing“.
