To Kill a Mockingbird Earns 2 LCT Nominations

Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized Cincinnati Shakespeare Company“™s  “œTo Kill a Mockingbird“ with LCT nominations for lead actor (Bruce Cromer) and featured actress (Torie Wiggins) as well as distinguishing it as a recommended production.

In this adaptation of the beloved Harper Lee novel, set in a small town in Alabama in 1935, Scout and her brother Jem learn courage and compassion as their father, Atticus Finch, defends a young black man falsely accused of a crime.

Panelists praised Bruce Cromer“™s portrayal of Atticus Finch as “œsensational“ and “œstrong enough to hold off the image of the iconic Gregory Peck.“ Torie Wiggins as Calpurnia “œdid a great job of establishing her relationship with the children and her place as a black woman in the time period.“ Overall, the panelists recommended the production as “œterrific“ and “œworthy of coming out of your house, like Boo Radley“.

“œTo Kill a Mockingbird“ continues through September 30th. Tickets can be purchased at www.cincyshakes.com.

Final LCT awards will be determined at the end of the season and announced at the LCT gala in the spring.
